I woke up to read the news on MSN this morning and i saw a caption sayin "Its Official, Obama is black" Duhhhhhh!!! Seeing him for the first time what would one categorize him as? Asian? Caucasian?Waoh. His skin is black, he has features of a negro, his wife is black, his kids have no trace of being "not black" so were did people get the notion that he wont be black. He is the first African American to be in the White House so doesnt that signify he is black? he officially became black according to Census when he checked off African American in the Race Classification box and he did the same for the rest of the members of his family which includes his wife, children and mother in law.

ERYKAH BADU-WINDOW SEAT

Okay now, Erykah Badu is one of my weirdest singers and that was before lady Gag came along. Her music might be inspiring to some but her uniqueness comes with her style, her approach, the way she dresses up and ties her head wroaps and al. That is the first thing i thinlk of when i see Erykah Badu and in the year 2010 she decided to go nude. She was trying to pass a message across which is breaking the norm. JFK was assasinated about 40yrs ago where she filmed the video. And??? The gunshot in the end, trying to prove what point?
Well nudity in a video where you are trying to pass a message across is no message, the lesson learned or message she passed across is the response to how she looks without her clothes, i am tired of the "booty" "booty" phrase, thats all i hear when Erykah Badu's video is talked about. "Did you see that booty? She has been hiding it in all those clothes all this while" The video might have had some video privacy censor, i saw some of that in some parts of the video but it doesn't explain or change the fact that the message in the video was nudity.Plain and simple!!!!!!!!! Maybe thats my own opinion.

FORGET OR GET EVEN

There are people in life that would hurt you so much you don't know what to do, and one thing i have realised is that, it is the people that we love that hurt us the most so i have one question. As a child back then when i was growing up you don't want your parents to tell you the same thing twice especially when the second time lands you a slap on the face or an unexpected beating from behind. Those were the days when the rod was not spared. The phrase spare the rod and spoil the child doesn't apply to a lot of nigerian parents espeically mine. My dad had a way with words especially when he spared the rod but this child was not spoiled. There are some things that your parents would say that would hurt worse than being beaten,my dad had that as his weapon but my mom on the other hand would just throw one dirty slap that would let your wisdom teeth take a walk out of your mouth.

Usually it didnt just end at home , in school ,you had teachers that would intimidate you with their canes and that alone was scary. Canes of all sizes would sit behind the teachers table waiting for one ripe buttocks to flog. Back then i would have endured punishment to those canes, and there was this myth that the thinner canes hurt more than the thicker and fatter ones. It didn't matter. Never be afraid of the weapon ,be afraid of the person holding the weapon. I can take a thick and a thin cane and flog a kid and it wont hurt but if i decide to flog you out of frustration or annoyance you can as well call yourself dead meat. Some teachers were just plain mean. I remember back then when we had this mean math teacher in Primary six, if you get anything less than 15 out of 20, you are dead meat and he gave more strokes of cane if you got more questions wrong, imagine if you got 2 out of 20, 18 deadly strokes of those his canes that God knows where he got them from.

In the Western world it is a lot ddifeerent, the breed of kids in this generation makes wonders really never end,i watch some little brats come to my job and act up and their mothers behave like the kids are remote controlling them such a scenario as this

A kid is playing with a wig and acting the fool meanwhile there is a sign on the glass that say

"PLEASE CONTROL YOUR KIDS". And then the mother reads it and this is the kind of conversation that ensues

Mother: Honey put the wig down

CHILD: (still acting the fool) NO!

Mother: I said put the wig down

CHILD: No (starts throwing a fit)

Mother: Be quiet i said put the wig down

CHILD: No, you be quiet (tantrums and then throws the wig on the floor)

ME: (silent thought: you are so freaking lucky you are not my kid, i would have marinaded your ass in the store and given it to yo daddy for dinner, better put that s*** away and get your little behind on the floor)

Mother: Oh dear, i need to take him home he needs a nap, he is getting grouchy.

Me: (silent thought: only grouchy)

Another scenario is some hispanic lady who came to the store with her little kid and the little girl was playing with the hair dye bottles and putting it in her mouth,my coworker saw her and told her nicely not to play with the bottles and the mother acted like she had earphones on, she didn't correct her kid , next thing the girl was opening the bottle and then my coworker intervened again

COWORKER: Put the color down, don't play with it.

MOTHER: You don't have to yell at my daughter.

COWORKER: I am not yelling at her, can't you see she is playing with the hair dye. She was just about to drink it.

MOTHER: She is just a little girl, if you wanted to talk to her you should have said so nicely and by the way english is her first language.

Bamm!!!!!!!! Right there, a fifth grade is definitely smarter than this lady. What does first language have to do with simple obedience?

Like for real, i have seen some mothers make some lame excuses for their really bad kids. If your kid is acting up, its not because he or she needs a nap, they don't even need to get one, whoop their little behinds. I believe the reason why i act responsible is the fact that i got whooped as a child and it helped my thinking and choices. Its not abuse, i believe that sometimes those once in a while whoopings just help the children to know not to repeat that same act again and know when to behave. If my kid acted funky in the grocery store, i would beat daytime savings out of that kid, you cant just display embarrassing behavior in public and then try to make excuses for it. If you keep making excuses for your kids behavior they would never become responsible for anything. You would continue to do stuff for them because they are so dependent on your excuses, the stupid ones you make for them.

Practical parents who know how to instill discipline in their kids can do so without whooping them, it may come in form of taking something that the child values a lot or just some sort of punishment thats the sparing of the rod and spoinling the child. It can work either way but it depends on the child. Children learn as they grow and experiences make them wiser. Experiences such as putting your hand in a flame and knowing it would burn you. There is nothing wrong with correcting kids. I would never whoop my kids just becuase ...,but if it is a corrective measure i won't mind doing it but there are other ways, but our African parents, i give them kudos.

Image: Photobucket

1st Position

One thing i love about Nigerians is the fact that we are ambitious. We always want the best in life. Naturally who wouldn't ....but it gets to the stage whereby the best professions are Law, Medicine and Engineering,.. Everything else just doesn't count and we have parents that push those things into our heads they will say stuff like "See Aunty Betty's daughter, she is a medical doctor or Uncle Tunde's son is a pharmacist do you know where he works, he is making a lot of money." Another common 1st position categroy for ambitious nigerians is driving top class cars like Mercedes Benz or BMW. I have also taken note that many Nigerians love Japanese cars, Infiniti, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Lexus, Acura and the likes, those are relatively top of the class sort, Hummers, Escalades are even more impressive so gentlemen dont be surprised when that girl who has been shunning you at work decides to go on a date with you so she could ride in your car and impress people.
To the one thing about first position, i read this on twitter and i have never laughed so hard "Nigerian parents always come first position in the class". That's so true, i remember when i was growing up and my parents would tell me how they always came first in class, I always believed them but i also found out that my other friends' parents told them the very same thing, so what position do other people come in class? I believe that this is a positive form of motivation to always see the best in ourselves and strive for the top. This might be a popular nigerian norm but i think this is the best form of positive self motivation.

TELEPHONE

I am not a Lady Gaga fan like seriously, once a singer is just not like "normal" i don't care much for whatever you decide to sing, i am not listening. But i happened to be at work and took a sudden glance at the Tv and Beyonce was on the screen, she was said to be doing a music video with Lady Gaga and first thing that came to my mind."Oh my goodness, are you kidding me, the world is about to come to an end". Beyonce sold me with a line"This is going to be epic" so I went home and decided to check it out and alas, it was much better than i expected, i like the video for some reason with all the weirdness it had a story to it. Texting. Its better than talking, instead of picking up the phone and having that two minute discussion, they would rather text and sometimes a great conversation can also contiune while driving.Anyway after watching so many Scare tactic videos and all, I saw a picture on a friend's wall on facebook. It is said that it is rude and totally wrong to give elderly people or rather just anyone things with your left hand. What????????????

I don't know where that rule came from or who brought that whole should i call it an urban legend or some silly tradition up but if one of those ancient traditions have to be deleted i think that has to be included on the delete and definitely not recycle bin list. Are you kidding me??????

A co worker once explained to me that the left hand is used to do dirty work and that's why it is wrong to give people things with the left hand, dirty work such as wiping the behindafter one has put down a big fat number two in the bathroom. Okay so what does that have to do with giving someone something with your left hand especially after you are supposed to have washed it ( some people don't and i mean really don't).

In places like India and some Islamic countries i also found out that it is wrong to hand people things with the left hand and also for the very same reason.

In primary school children who wrote with their left hands were called "lefties" in the United States, they are called "South paws"

Left handedness has been attributed to very negatively, it is associated with being the improper side, the wrong side and also associated with awkwardness. Apart from just being attributed to negatively by humans. The Bible also talks about the coming of Jesus christ and how Jesus will divide the people with the good people who are like sheep to the right hand side and the disobedient goats on the left hand side (Matt 25:31-34).

Some famous left handed people

Bill Gates,Bill Clinton,Albert Einstein,George W Bush,Barack Obama.
In actual fact the 41st to the 44th president were all left handed and that includes George Bush Snr
I think being left handed is not a bad thing, i think being left handed is being different. In my own opinion whatever hand suits you, you can use it to the best of your ability, sometimes all those myths and urban legends about left handedness would reduce one to being a true left hand which as people say "useless"

Image from:www.radioinsidescoop.com

THE QC GIRL- A MEMOIR

I remember this statue was one of the main Queens college landmarks. She was between the senior block and the junior block and she was right between the lecture theatres and behind "love garden". Goodness gracious. She is the famous "Queens College Girl". She has been in that school for decades and still counting, through the rain, sunshine and worse weather. She has seen other girls come in wearing pinafores and left wearing skirts. She has seen parents come and go, everyone has walked past her at some time or the other. Even nine years after graduating from QC her statue is still there intact. I think she was just touched up a little with paint, the statue still looks good.

I remember the time a tale went around saying that she moved, others said she went to the principal's house one night and asked to wear a skirt and blosue as she was tired of wearing her pinafore. The bread seller would scream "Agege Bread". Someone help me...........................This is a real call for help especially when i am blogging about it (wink).

THE BLACK COLOR THING

This is racist against one's race and just thinking about the terms "light skinned black people" and "dark skinned black people" make me cringe. There is a color segregation between the individuals of one race with one thinking that they are superior to the other. Total nonsense. There has been this notion over the years that the light skinned black people are superior to the dark skinned black people. My own two cents on that is that it is not just absolute nnsense, it is also sheer ignorance.

I think this whole thing started back in the slave days. I think and that is my own personal opinion that everyone is black, we all started out black until we started interbreeding. Africans back in the day were genetically pure with a dominant black gene, so where did this light gene come from?My theory is that there were probably some families who had a tinge gene of being a shade lighter than others and the biggest possibilty was inter racial breeding which actually brings out an obvious light complexion. So a white man has sex with a black slave and their baby is mixed which makes the baby light skinned!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmm. So whats so superior about being light skinned?

In the early 1900's the Paper Bag test was used and it was a big form of color discrimination back in the day. It was used as a litmus test for black people so that they could be accepted into one social field or another, if you were not lighter than a brown paper bag, you were just not light enough. Some churches, Greek systems such as Phi Alpha Phi and even schools practiced it. Some men used it as a criteria to take women out on a date, if the woman was darker than a paper bag, she just wasn't good enough. Period. Suprisingly, this practice was also carried out in historically black universities a very good example is Howard University. At parties, it was also used as a form of admission, if the paper bag is lighter, you would be denied admission, it was important back then as being 21 to drink is important today. In New Orleans, a paper bag party always had a paperbag hanging at the door, you know what that means.

In the slave times,it was used to determine what kind of slave work the slaves would do, the lighter skinned ones did the domestic chores in the house while the darker skinned ones worked on the plantations.

So what happend to Black is beautiful and where did that statement come from or is it just a consolation of being rejected by the lighter skinned black people or rather is it that the whole population of black people are just plain beautiful. Wondering? Smh. It is said that this notion is responsible for the afro hairstyle since it is said that black people have ugly facial features and our hair could be at it's worst for being thick and unmanageble without a perm.

In the media, lighter skinned black people are portrayed better than the dark skinned black people because they are seen as looking better and are highly accpeted nationally. I have seen a lot of posters with models who are lighter than a paperbag and they are said to be black women, most of the real dark skinned models always have their head shaven like its some kind of art work to look that way. Beyonce is one of the light skinned black people who is not just a celebrity but she is good enough to feature as the ad person for Loreal and Tommy Girl for Tommy Hilfiger.Lighter skinned black people are said to also be more socially desirable, the lighter skinned women would be preferably taken on a date than a real black woman. In the entertainment industry, all the light skinned dark people are prominent, Out of Eden,Ashanti,Beyonce, Alicia Keys,Chris Brown, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett, Janet Jackson, Mary Mary. The last time i looked on the red carpet, a dark skinned black person was very hard to find. Even in sitcoms a replacement of a character ends up with a lighter one like in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the Janet Whitten was replaced with Daphne Reid. (the wife of Wil's uncle) .

In the movie "Precious" from the book PUSH. All the negative characters are dark skinned such as her Precious, her mom and dad while the positive characters are the social worker and her teacher who happen to be light skinned.

School Daze and the book which is now a movie The Color Purple were written with the notion of the effects of skin color. The Barbie doll started out as a white doll with blonde hair and blue eyes, in the late twentieth century and early twenty first century the notion of a black Barbie came out but the white one is still preferable.

It is a common notion among other races that black people are not intelligent which is wrong and also what is really wrong is that lighter skinned black people are said to be more intelligent than dark skinned black people, well the only advantage i think they had in the slave time is that because they worked in the house, they had a better chance of learning to read and write from the children of the plantation owners or their wives or even the owners themselves.Intelligence has no correlation with skin color. If you are smart you are smart, if you are dumb you are dumb. Some blondes are not that dumb.i have met really smart blondes. Book smart blondes and also intelligent in everyday life. But there exists a term"Dumb blonde"

In the image of the black American woman, the light skinned one is the more preferresd one. She is said to be more attractive and is more likely to get up there in the society. This prefered image has reduced a lot of dark skinned black woman to being self conscious and also a lack of self confidence. This is one of the reasons there are so many relaxers sold on the shelves of beauty supplies and grocery stores as well as bleaching creams. The effort to look like the light skinned ones has become paramount among dark skinned black people.

I think today the light skinned , dark skinned color thing still exists espceially among our own black people which i call total ignorance. This is the second decade in the 21st century, we need to wake up. I leave on this note it's a comment made by comedian Paul Mooney on color. "If you are brown, hang around,if you are yellow, mellow,if you are white, you are alright, if you are black, get back."

I don't think i am getting back to nowhere. Two young arab Americans decided to show pride in their graduating class of 2011 by making sweatshirts with the number 11 which looked like twin towers and a thunderbird flying nearby with the slogan"You can't bring us down". It was perceived negatively by some staff and students as the school as it referred to the September 11 attack on the Twin towers in 2001. The staff of Dearborn Edsel Ford High School had a meeting in which the matter was discussed but the boys were not punished because they didn't see it in that light as being wrong, they were only trying to show pride in their graduating class. Their sweatshirts were confiscated though. It is pretty sad that shirts were seen as offensive. I don't see it that way though, they were just showing some pride but to sensitive United States citizens especially those who lost family and loved ones, sincere apologies. I think somehow that the situation may have been perceived differently if these young boys were not Arab. She was born to a black father and a white mother. Her father abused her mother and her sister. After he worked out on them, her mother raised Halle and her sister.
As a child she dealt with racism from her peers.

She attended Bedford High school and had a lot of acheivements by being on the school editorial board. She was also a cheerleader and was the captain of the team and was president of her class.

She was voted as Prom Queen of her graduating class in 1984. She became Miss Ohio in 1985.

In in 1989 she was diagnosed with Type I diabetes.
In 1991, she made her first breakthrough by landing a movie role in Jungle Fever, a Spike Lee movie.

She got married to David Justice in 1992 and finalised the divorce in 1997. She was married to him until 1996. She was at one of her best in "Losing Isiah", a movie in which she played the role of a drug addict fighting a white woman in court to get back her son.She played the role of Dorothy Dandridge in the movie "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" and earned herself an Emmy anda Golden globe Award. She played the role of Storm in the X Men movie in the year 2000. In 2001, she got married to a singer Eric Benet and that same year she landed a role in the movie Monster's Ball.It landed her an Oscar Award making her the first African American to win an Oscar Award. In 2004, she filed for a divorce from Eric Benet. At 41, she had her first baby with boyfriend gabrile Aubury, she welcomed Nahla into the world on March 16, 2008.

Halle is one of my choices for a successful black woman, she is also a good example of a "good sistah that cannot be held down" She has faced a lot of issues such as racism. It is not the best feeling in life to be regarded as either white or black in terms of color. I can imagine all the teasing and taunting of the little kids who were her age.I believe people like that have self esteem problems. She also witnessd domestic violence in her childhood and ended up with bad relationships as an adult. In that case she chose the relationships she wanted to be in and made decisions to either stay or leave. She also made name for herself in the moves she made and made history for being the first black woman to earn an Oscar Award. She opened doors for other black women showing them that anything could be achieved, you had to put your mind to it. She is black and successful and that it that.

SOURCES
People Magazine
www.people.com/people/halle_berry/biography/0,,20004436_20,00.html

Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halle_Berry#cite_note-80

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://workshopdelacreme.blogspot.com/2009/11/top-50-successful-black-people.html' title='TOP 50 SUCCESSFUL BLACK PEOPLE: 1. Some girls have this need to have a financially stable and secure husband. This is a physical need. Not every handsome man is a perfect man, every less than average handsome man is not supposd to be the perfect man either. In terms of being financially stable, money comes and money goes hut either way money is very important in a relationship.Instead of calling it money, i would call it financial stability. If the man is not financially stable, a wedding is not ready to take place and definitely the marriage that comes after having a wedding ceremony.
Marriage and wedding are two different things, one is permanent and the other isn't, Marriage is supposed to be the permanent one and the wedding is temporary. The wedding ceremony, the fun at the reception lasts but one day but what happens after the wedding? Marriage. Marriage is an instituition by itself and it is supposed to last for a lifetime and this happens to those who are fortunate.
Some are compelled to get married because their peers are getting married, this is most especially of so many ladies, they have been bridesmaids in five or six different weddings and now their mothers are asking them, "when are other people coming for your wedding?" Others will keep picking from a selction of men especially to find the perfect one. I will tell you, No man will ever be perfect before you marry them, it will probably take you a lifetime to make a man perfect which is almost impossible, its just like telling a leopard to change its spots but i believe in the power of prayer.
I once dated this dude who just wanted to get married, thats all he could think of was get married.
"Oh babe lets get married tomorrow, oh babe i wish we could get married tonight." All that was wishful thinking because it never happened.
Stability in both mental and physical areas of life need to be established. I would not date anyone who is not spiritually stable or financially stable. It might not sound fair but if the guy's intentions are to take me to the altar, he had better have a job and a real good one for that matter.
Some of my mates want a handsome man, with a dashing car especially a new model and he also has to be on a six figure salray (in their wildest dreams) and so many fantasies. These are lovely thoughts but what will happen if the man is disabled, will he still be attractive to you, what if one of your jealous ex girlfriend pours acid on him, would you still find him attractive, what if he crashed his car on the freeway and he had no insurance and he buys a bucket would you still ride ith him?If he got laid off from his six figure paying job and he started living on Social security or living off you, would you still bear him, these are very uncomfortable questions> it is very tempting to say yes, but it is really hard.
SOmetimes you would wake up one morning and ask yourself why you are stuck with someone who looks like the character of the beast from "The Beauty and The Beast", has a legedesbesnz (on foot) and seems to share similarities with the life of a beggar and your frends will tell you "Why are you still with that man?, He has nothing to offer you". Beware of such freinds, people like that like to give advice that they cannot act on. When you go to his house, you look in the fridge he has no food, just water, you get tempted to cuss him out but how? Will you be in the relationship out of self pity, because he did you one favor in the past? Or you have made vows and you are scared of the consequences of breaking those vows. Hmm, Food for thought.
Have you ever thought of being Mrs Right?
Mrs Right is the right lady. Enough said.
Not too many women have this perspective in mind, they just want to be a lucky bride, who then is Mrs Right.
Have you ever wondered why men don't search for ladies anymore? Because women are too busy searching for men up to the point where they settle for anything and anyone just to be with someone. Out of pressure, they think to themselves,"He is the one".
Females, have you gotten your degree, a damn good job, do you have a spiritual life, do you have harmony and balance in your life? Can you balance your check book at the end of the month and still go on vacation? Can you spend a whole month without borrowing money from your friends, family and savings? Have you ever thought of working at becoming a person for yourself without relying on the prescence of another person. Why do you think men don't want "gold diggers" and "limited liabilites" for themselves. Have you ever thought of why men chase women who have got it covered physically and end up marrying a "good girl" (morals, money, beauty),because what was given to them was offered on a platter of gold. "Who will buy the cow when the milk is free?" Really why buy the cow when the dairy milk comes free everyday. That same guy will dump you and get the girl behind you. When you can fulfil all the requirements of a perfrect person only then will you become someone's Mrs Righr. Trust me,Men will come in their flock.

SACRED SEX

I have never met a male virgin and i have also never heard of a male virgin make a pronouncement of being one. Most African males and i think males in general have this egoistical attitude of talking about being the best of the best in the bedroom or sexually. I have met men who think that female virgins are like a taboo in today's world and i am not surprised because everything you see in a day has to have some sexual appeal at one point in time or another be it a music video with those voluptous girls shaking what their mama gave them or a soap opera or movie with some rather passionate sexual scenes and what of the plethora of pornography on the internet. Its all out there. Sex is a revolution. Female virgins these days could be no more than six or seven years old. Contraceptions have been put forward to even promote premarital sex. Sex is on sale, sold by prostitutes? No not anymore, its free. Why buy the cow when you can get it free.

Like i began i came across this marvellously talented dude's website. His name is Ekene Agabu and he believes sex is R. R could be rated, rampant, rude, but sex is a responsibility. I thought i had digested a great sex book when Juanita Bynum pulled out " No More Sheets" in 1998. That was a book i didn't put down until i finished it and it is the kind of book i don't lend to friends, i could get them their own copy but browsing through Ekene's website i realised that some men still have values and i think it is "Sexy". You need to read his definitions of "sexy" they are very "sexy".

I realise now that there is no such thing as sacred sex anymore. Sex is a topic everywhere, in music, in the classroom, with the girls at lunch, in the nail shop, the guys having some beer talk about sex. Its not bad to talk about it but now its been degraded, its now like the sex between animals, its just mating. There is no love, its just crude and raw so now i believe there is a difference between sex and lovemaking in terms of the definition.

When God put the first sexual partners in the garden of Eden, it was for a reason, Adam and Eve shared their love in form of sex which brought about children and it was only between them, no one could cross those boundaries to come between them. In the 21st century, cohabitation without commitment has made sex look like a one dollar bill, it is cheap sex. Most girls with low self esteem give men sex in order to keep them, you need to keep your goods for someone who is worthy. I mean after reading Ekene's page i was impressed, i had an entirely different view on men, i think i will go about this sex thing in parts.

He said " Why Lose it when you can give it"

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A man finally said it, not a woman, a man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. You don't have to lose your virginity to someone just because........................................................................., you have to give it because you love that person and there is a commitment, which brings me to one of Ekene's thoughts. "Has the person you are sleping with earned the right to have you?

WHY ARE YOU HERE?

The birth of a baby signifies the beginning of new life. The stages come and the child grows up, the crying, crawling, diaper, learning to tie shoes, reading , all these activities come in stages but the most important thing is why was that baby born? There is only one known reason to the birth of a baby which is the result of sex yielding procreation but the bottomline is as an indiviual why are you here?
The fact the God has allowed you to see today, there must be a reason, some people have perished along the way, some died at still birth, some slept and never woke up, some had one form of illness or another which threatened their lives but we need to ask ourselves why we are here. In Proverbs 27:1 " Never boast about tomorrow, you don't know what will happen between now and then" is an example of living your life and trying to fulfil your purpose on earth. There is a reason for your existence and you need to find it. Let this be your thought for today. WHY ARE YOU HERE?

A SIZZLING BOOK FOR A HOT SUMMER DAY

Sidney Sheldon's : Are you afraid of the dark?

Oh my goodness, this book has been provoking my thoughts for the past couple of days. It's really good. I suggest if you are bored out of your mind go to a local library to borrow this book to read. The book is playing like a movie in my head right now,you can just imagine the scene. I am almost done reading it.

4 people were killed in different cities in the world, New York, Denver, Paris and Berlin. Their deaths were not just accidents they were murders but they all appeared to be accidents and just one man masterminded their deaths but its not so obvious until you get to the middle of the book. I promise you if you buy the book at Barnes and Noble or Borders it would be worth every penny you spent.

FREEDOM

There is nothing as good as being free. Last week i had a horrible dream that i was kidnapped by the Talibans or rather Indians. It was horrible. In my life i would never imagine being kidnapped by anyone. all entrances were blocked i was running from pillar to post and it was like everytime i tried and failed they seemed to laugh at me they even took my cell phone from me. I could not call or do anything. For some reason since it was a dream i could have easily woken up from it but it started to become reality until my mom woke me up. Whewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watching the news today and watching Lisa Ling and Euna Lee get their freedom is something praiseworthy, this was the handiwork of Bill Clinton the former president of the United States who went to North Korea to plead on their behalf. They were detained in North Korea on March 17th 2009 for illegally entering North Korea and engaging in crimes that are said to be not specific yet. They were sentenced to 12years with hard labor in June 2009 and now they are finally free today August 4th 2009. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!

I also thank God for Jesus Christ who is the Intercessor for us humans after being accused by the main Accuser. We are free.

John 8:36. "So if the Son makes you free then you are free indeed"

In Him we are free, no one would value their freedom until they have been taken captive. In the second world war many soldeirs died for the freedom of people, in the Bible Jesus died so that mankind would be free, Bill Clinton stepped out of his comfort zone so that those ladies would be free. I thank God for people who value freedom. Don't be caught captive, be Free.

I remember back in the days when i used to collect money in form of change from those market women who would store money in their hot, sticky and sweaty bras or in thouse pouches that used to hang slighty above their genitalia. The Nigerian money had this awful stench that reminds me of cholera. I also had the mentality that it was only the Nigerian money that was so dirty until i found out that one dollar and twenty dollar bills could have the same look after giving them some time.

I was impressed to find out that the CBN decided to come up with a way to let the general public know that the Nigerian money should be given some respect and also handled properly. The chart to the right shows the many ways Nigerians violate the money and that a fine of fifty thousand naira or a six month jail term or both can be attratced if the naira is abused. I believe that Nigerians are guilty of at least one of these things and it is usually the last image. Spraying. One by one i would comment on the pictures.

Do not store the naira indecently: I have never stored money in my bra and i never will. I just think that is one of the most disgusting habits a woman should ever portray i tried it once but it didnt last up to a minute, it started to itch and ewwww not to talk of those women who are heavily endowed on the chest and that dirty black cleavage line.I don't want to imagine the sweat and the stench accumulated and then sweet smelling naira noted would be stored there and then come out as though it was hidden beside a pit latrine. Enuff said.

Neatly arrange money in pouches/wallets, do not squeeze the money: Rich people have a way of storing money that would make you want to have money, they stack the bills up neatly and place it in their wallets not squeezing the money or just being careless. I have seen some rich people pull out money, impressive its like saying "the dough is right here, take it". For sure, its for grabs. Money should be regarded as something of value and handled and kept right. I have noticed that when i fold money and keep it in other parts of my wallet i tend to forget and not know exatly how much i have. Thanks for debit card.

Do not stain the Naira: The picture with the caption is ridiculous why would you leave those bills hanging around your food. It makes no sense but i think some people do it anyway.

Do not deface the Naira: For those people who like to write on money, "Ada loves Thomas" or "Pass this money around and see if it comes back to me" or "trace this money"You had beter start getting appropriate writing materials. No more calculating money or writing cell phone numbers or addresses on Nigerian money.

SPRAYING: I wrote this in capital letters because you would have killed the joy at most parties. In Lagos and ther states or rather everything Nigerian it is the fun part of the party to have the celebrants dance and get sprayed on. All that money, its also a delight to pick the money up and think that it is your money. I don't know how that would work and who would want to arrest me for spending my own money.

In other words Nigerians have had their own share of abusing the naira and it would take more than a generation to change that. Squeezing money, writing on money, giving money as bribe, hiding it bras, pouches, shoes, headties, underwear(to hide from spouse or parents after stealing), spraying are all forms of abusing the Naira but guess what the Naira does not care and so does the general public, the Naira only has its best use for spending and it also acts as a leveller of people distinguishing the rich from the poor so whoever came up with this statement was not wrong "When money talks, bullshit walks"

ELECTRONIC PASSPORT IN NIGERIA

I think its really impressive to know that Nigeria will go digital with the new passport. It is supposed to ensure that there are no more forged passports and identity theft in Nigeria so the issue of Taiwo using Kehinde's passport as an identical twin will be ruled out. The difference between the epassport and the regular paper or hardback green passport is that an integrated computer chip is embedded in the back cover of the passport, this technology is to store the information written on the front page of the passport such as the digital photograph of the owner of the passport, this also uses face recognition technology which can be used to identify a person travelling to a different country. The biometrics that can be used in the e passport is face recognition, fingerprint and iris (according to wikipedia.com) . There are three different kinds and they also have different prices, the Green passport is the Standard Nigerian passport and it costs eight thousand seven hundred and fifty naira (8750),the official passport is blue and it costs four thousand naira while the Diplomatic passort is red in color. It costs about $110 to apply for the passport. online. It should go into use in 2010 and is proudly one of the first countries in West Africa or rather in Africa to use this system of technology.

RITA- THE KOKOLET

Since DBanj came out with his new Reality Show Koko Mansion, i have been an avid and not so keen anymore viewer of the show. I think the concept of the show has not been made manifest yet. Its all about a bunch of girls who live in a house and all they do is eat, sleep, dance and get entertained or entertain a guest who comes to the house to visit them. In one of the episodes, they had to give a lecture on "rebranding" Nigeria and i believe the first group failed woefully because none of them could tell how precisely they would rebrand Nigeria if they had to. All the negativites of Nigeria was pointed out but there was no solution to the problem. The second group had good speakers and demonstrated their point very weel with the highly hilarious drama piece that was given. Rita was in the first group. I admit i have posted a video on her grammatical errors in Facebook , she was trying to say something but it didnt come out right and then to top it all with her bad English accent and her constant error in grammar. I believe she is the only real person who lives in the mansion. For the fact that people were making fun of her English and her accent has made me realise something. My parents valued education and sent me to school and made me stay there till i "GOT IT". Some parents wish to send their kids to school, even the finest schools in the world but there is no money to do so and instead the full potential of the child is not seen, it is suppressed somewhere in the being of the child. It wants to come out so bad but it can't . That is what happened to Rita. She has the confidence of any good speaker but the words came out wrong. If she had the opportuinity to go to a better school or if hr environment was different like her peers, her family, she would probably sound better than the Queen of England. My main point is to show appreciation for everything i have including my education. Some people will envy you because they dont have what you have and you may also envy others because you don't have what they have but either way we should be thankful for the little things we have in this life. Listening to Wande Coal's " Se ope" made me value a lot. Maybe i should make my own lyric
" Some found school but could not go, Some could go but didn't find school".LOL.

MARRIAGE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

The last time i checked Marriage was supposed to be a "for better for worse kind of thing." It is supposed to be a lifetime commitment but these days, i have actually noticed that marriage is like going on a week spring break and coming back. People walk in and out of marriages as if nothing happened. It is fast becoming a trend that sometimes the thought of being single is bliss. Please don't get me wrong, i have actually seen successful marriages, marriages that have lasted for more than ten, twenty, thirty, forty, i have seen them all. I wish people would keep those standards today but in this world where morals are seriously on the decline ,it is hard to do so.On facebook, i read some random quotes on marriage.
Someone was thinking about marriage as three rings "engagement ring, marriage ring and suffering" - anonymous.
Other quotes i read were
"Marriage is yeserday's news, divorce is the way forward and its my kinda style."
"Why get married, find someone you hate and give them half of everything"
"Swine flu, what women catch after they get married"
"Marriage is not a word, it is a sentence ( a life sentence)
"Someone is watching their wedding video in reverse and loves the part where the ring is takne off and gets back into the car and goes away"
"Someone is sitting here looking at the marriage certificate, where is the expiry date?"
"At a cocktail party, one woman asked another "Aren't you wearing your ring on the wrong finger?" and the lady replied "Yes, i married the wrong man."
"In session, someone is now a marriage counsellor, session 1. top right hand corner, click LOG OUT
These are random facebook comments. That mindset is fast becoming reality.I don't think people should see marriage as such. Just as many people are getting married, so many people are getting divorces. It shocked me to hear this morning that Usher Raymond and Tameka Foster are actually getting a divorce, and sometimes i ask myself what really is the problem, didnt they see this coming at all.Was it not last month or so that Nas and Kelis hit the rocks, at the beginning of this year, a budding relationship ended up with punches and brutal beatings when Rihanna and Chris Brown came into the spotlight with domestic abuse. That whole incident was on the news for more than two weeks. It's like these days people just make up and break up. Did anyone ever think that Bobby Brown and Whitne Houston would end up where they are today? I grew up in the 90's listening to lyrics of songs that had Bobbi and Whitney like Alpha and Omega or Bonnie and Clyde. Other hot Hollywood couples i admire are Will and Jada Smith, David and Victoria Beckham and i am praying that they don't end up like Bobbi and Whitney. When all these celebrity's take pictures on the red carpet one would think that they are living perfect lives but no one is living a perfect life, everyone has problems that hide under make up, blemishes that could be skin deep or laying right in the soul like a tattoo. Maybe now i would say that marriage is luck. You may be lucky to find a good spouse that would stay with you for the rest of your life through thick and thin. I don't know. There must be explanations for this stuff going on, its like a pandemic. First you hear of someone getting married, next thing they are getting a divorce. I think this generation has had the most divorce rates. Maybe because there is a serious moral decline.
I have also noticed something, i think heterosexuals are the ones who frequently go to the divorce court, i don't think i have ever seen or heard of a homosexual relationship hitting the rocks.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just thinking out loud. I am not in support of single sex marriags but i think that they kind of stay together more than heterosexuals maybe that is why they are pushing the "Sexual Equality Movement". If God made man to be with the woman why then don't they stay together why are better relationships budding out of homosexuals? What is it that they have that heterosexuals can't just figure out? Is it an estrogen and testeterone battele? I am wonderin and pondering.
I have seen parents of friends walk into marriage and walk out like nothing happened. Most of the time even while living together they live like"worse than roommates", like total strangers to each other and the children in the marriage observe it. Ladies please don't blame men for having "commitmentophobia" or men please dont blame ladies for feeling the same way. They must have probably watched their parents act out the nightmare that was called their marriage. Some children from dysfunctional homes tend to have fear of commitment or rather making mistakes in finding life parteners."What if he/she is not the one?" "I don't want her to turn out to be like my step mom/dad"I mean i think most parents make very selfish decisions when it comes to dealing with marital issues. Other children from dysfunctional homes sometimes more often than not live happily ever after, they tend to become their own personality aside from their parents inbuilt genes in them and get someone who understands and loves them for who they really are to be married to. They find someone who they don't want to make the mistakes their parents made to spend their lives with. Nothing is as sad as repeating the same mistake not once but TWICE.
Something is not right, the motives for getting married might be wrong, maybe its pregnancy but these days who cares about being pregnant before getting married. No one does. Or maybe its about the money, all these pre nup stuff, its crazy, and then the baby drama issues. I mean look at Jon and Kate, they are supposed to be role models for baby making factory women. They have 8 kids for goodness sake and they have just succeded in announcing to the media about not being steady or rather a possible break up, not a smart move on Jon's side i would say, he would be paying child support on those 8 kids for the next ten to fifteen years.A friend of mine on facebook wrote that "Usher and Tameka have finally come to an end, let's see how long Brangelina has left to go" I mean is it some form of prediction, right now i don't know but this summer, i have to go on a mariage tour or rather a marriage bus.Can someone bring up a reality show for singles with commitmentophobia?
After reading all those quotes i don't wish for anyone to look back after five years of being married and regret it, we all make decisions and we must try to live with them, no matter how bad, if you can't marry someone you can call your best friend, don't bother getting married at all because marriage is like friendship on a whole different level, it comes with love and children and enjoying life. I want to go for wedding anniversaries of my friends after 20 years of being with the same person not the second or third spouse. I pray long life and prosperous marriages for all reading this and i like these quotes
"Marriage is sharing your life with your best friend, someone you can count on no matter what, your one true love"
"A successful marriage requires falling in love many times with the same person"
"You don't marry the person you can live with, you marry the person you can't live without."
" In the end when all is done, it will be me and you, nothing can overcome."
Wishing all the 2009/2010 married couples to be a happy married life filled with love and beautiful children,i don't want to write any sad articles about anyone i know, please. Love you much

DESIGNER BABIES

Wonders shall never end. What is this world coming to? In this technology age, humans are beginning to believe that they can create another human from scratch. What with this in vitro, in vivo and all that stuff, I am a Cell and Molecular biology major and sometimes the thought of these new inventions makes me very uneasy. I beleive that these genetic findings should help to cure and eradicate diseases and not add new controversies in people's lives. It started with Dolly the sheep who eventually died because she was not genetically fit to survive. Now almost couple of decades later, they are coming out with "designer babies". What in the world is that?
Designer Babies is a new hot trend, that helps couples decide what kind of baby they want. Like say the man has sickle cell in his family, the making of this baby will eradicate that so therefore the baby will not have any sickle cell trait, it also goes for Huntington's disease and Muscular Duchenne Dystrophy. Parents can also decide if their baby should have blonde hair and blue eyes. I think it is rather unethical to try to trake the place of our Creator, ALmighty God but a lot of people will tell me that it is my own point of view.
So now there are Pro's and Con's to this:
Pros
1. Genetic diseases are avoided. This is done by a procedure which is rather scientific but for just reading, all that sickle cell, Alzheimers, Asthma and all that stuff will be eliminated.
2. Infertile parents can have children. How?
3. You might not need health insurance in the future. Especially if all these genetically inherited diseases would be eradicated.

Cons
1. The embryos get thrown away. Now why would you want to do that. Some couple cannot even produce a zygote not to talk about an embryo.
2. It's a baby and thats why you are expectant in the pregnancy state. Why would someone want to know what their baby looks like before he/she is born? Taking the fun away from pregnancy.
3. There is a most expectant chance to have a baby born with defects.
4. The child would seem like a factory made product because he/she was pre ordered with specifications. Not fair. Remember that the child would grow up one day and hate the way it looks because,it might end upop not looking like the parents and the kids at school would ask "who is your daddy?" Not a good question. I am sure that's not the milk man's son either.
5. It is so unethical. It is a sin.

I am sorry but that's my opinion. What do you think?

If you want to marry a Nigerian Boy.Lol

I was on my facebook page today and a friend of mine had this list of things a girl should be to marry a nigerian boy. There are a lot of standards a lot of men want in their women but i think women should make their own standards and be their own selves. A man would value a woman who is true to herself, and not trying to "put a show". I want to analyse her list because i thought about it and i think some of them are true. Lets start with number 1.

1. Thou shall NOT be a LONG TINS BABE (you know what I mean?)

Well i really don't know what you mean, the last time i heard long tins, it was from the Dbanj cd.

2. Thou shall not lack in boobs, yansh and hips. If you must, please lack only one and find a way to make up for it.

Okay i know a babe has to be cute and all but whats up with making up for stuff you don't have, if he loves you he will accept you for who you are and not what you've got, marriage is beyond physical. And come to think of it, men really like their women looking like hour glasses, not just another man.Lol!

3. Thou shall NOT be a down to earth, real or ride or die chick. I.e all those ruff, rugged and raw "tell it as it is" girls, NOT WERKING.

If your yes is yes and your no is no, then thats all you need, if you are not down to earth, you will be sending out mixed signals. It works my dear if not then the guy must be a boy and not man, he has a lot of growing up to do.

4. Thou shall not have dew hair (All those afro/afro-kinky "soul" sisters… FORGET IT).

The last time i checked, Jill Scott, Macy Gray and Ty Bello had dates and probably husbands, not too cool saying afro kinky hair is not in because i like afro hair myself. Admire your roots and stop trying to look European with hair that would sweat out after three weeks. Its not permanent, thats why its "due" every three to four weeks and you keep getting those"touch up" that make your hair fall out anyway, dreadful.

5. Thou shall not be a non-church goer. Ladies, for extra credit, be an usher, Sunday school aunty or PRAYER WARRIOR (This applies to other religious sects)

Why would you go to church anyway to just impress a man because you are a disgusting usher who had an abortion three weeks ago,or a choir mistress having an affair with married men? Check yorself, don't offend God because you are trying to please a man, have a personal relationship with God and all other things will be aded unto you.

6. Thou shall not go to club to find husband... YOU GO JONZ!!

Do people really go to the club to find husbands? Waoh!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Thou shall not drink hard liquor or beer. Stick to 2 glasses of wine, IF YOU MUST DRINK ALCOHOL

In my own opinion, you are either a social drinker or a drunk, Choose one.

8. Thou shall not have un-manicured nails (It has to be French manicure acrylic nails).

And all the eba that you will eat in your lifetime will crawl and hide in those nails, what happened to the ones God gave you and are you really going to nurse your baby with your acrylic nails?

9. Thou shall not have daddy issues (victims of divorced parents and dysfunctional families … keep it to yourselves).

Really,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . What about if the guy comes from a dysfunctional family?

10. Thou shall not go without makeup (i.e. caked foundation, studio fix but ensure that the make up has a natural look which is purple lip liner, pink lip gloss and chocolate/natural eye shadows

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Spare me, no wonder some women wake up in the morning, looking like they came from the zoo. Please make up should not be the basis of you relationship, look good for him, remember he is still going to marry you and he will always wake up beside you in the morning staring at all the craw craw and pimples paradice on your face.

11. Thou shall not lack culinary skills. Perfect the art of egusi, ogbono and all variations of rice. Home Economics is in order

Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12. Thou shall not be a "posh sturvs". Sushi or lasagne…uh ..Really?

Women need a little bit of sophistication once in a while. "Sushi or lasagna" Lol

13. Thou shall not knack ya head when you have a weave. Futhermore, on no account should you be caught scratching and flicking the condiments into thin air. That is simply DISGUSTING

Simply put, very disgusting.Your scalp must seriously need grease ifyou itch and falke, those are symptoms of a dry scalp. If you cannot maintain your hair then don't get a weave.

14. Thou shall not do any strange degrees, such as development, journalism or medical genetics. Ladies, stick to law, engineering, accounting, business or pharmacy.

Any major you have will land you a job as long as you have a degree and wait a minte, journalists make good money and also get to travel while you sit your ass at home and wish to go on a trip to the Bahamas and medical genetics is not strange,in the next ten yrs thats whats going to be running the world. Law, engineering business accounting, pharmacy. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

15. Thou shall not have a sense of humour or try to even be funny (note: SARCASM IS A NO NO)

Please have a life, if he doesnt laugh, then thats too bad.Laugh hard and strong my dear till you choke.

16. Ultimately, thou shall not go past a first degree, maybe masters (PHD IS AN ABOMINATION)

Any man who does not like a focused and goal oriented woman is an abomination. Simply put.

17. If thou must study a masters, please please, remember to dumb down when hanging with his friends.

A woman with a Master's degree should a man's pride and if he is not proud of you or something then his friends must be losers just like him, you don't need men like that. Give me a break.

18. Thou shall not disclose too much of yourself. You will seem needy

Then what in the world are you doing in a relationship. You don't have to disclose yourself in a day, it make take a month, 6 months or a yr, it is a learning process.

19. Thou SHALL NOT have a sex life or sexual imagination prior to meeting him. Let him "teach" you.

He would have probably had sex with a thirteen year old before trying to sleep with your lying , two faced self, "let him teach you?" I laugh.

20. Thou shall not listen to anything other than r'n'b or hip hop (common is pushing it). All you World music and rock chicks, NOT HAPPENING MATE).

Everyone has a different taste in music, what happened to Fuji and the rest, he might be listening to that while you struggle with rock and roll.

21. Thou shall NOT be an independent woman. (all those "I can pay my own bills" bullshit… Basically , LONG TINS). Refer to commandment one!

Please, if you are not independent, then you are not ready to get married, no man needs liablity women.

22. Thou shall not be opinionated or well informed (WARNING: This might come off as intimidating. Besides, no one likes a miss know it all).

Please don't tell me you act dumb.

23. Thou shall not go to any obscure University. Please stick to University of London, Manchester Leicester, Nottingham, and Reading. (WARNING- YOU WILL END UP ALONE).

And what school did this so called man go to, University of>>>>>>>>>

24. Thou shall not be overly friendly. All those social butterflies and jovial. Personalities…BEWARE.

To catch a man's attention you have to be friendly at least, you should be pleasant in the long run, what's up with overly friendly?

25. Thou shall not be anti-social when it comes to his family. You have to GET IN THERE FULLY.
With the mother in law drama and all them in law sturves, i feel you.

26. Thou shall not explore any originality when it comes to fashion. Stick to T.M Lewin, Hawes&Curtis, pointies or kitten heels, and jeans – Abortion belt always puts the icing on the cake. To complete the look, don't be seen without your thick framed rectangular glasses (YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS).

Abortion belt, nice name for them hypertension causing belts, you should look chic and dress your age, not like them teenagers please.Their fashion age is daunting.

27. How are your personal relationships with coworkers, classmates, family and friends going?
In February, i have tried to accomplish a lot of new methods and strategies of paying my bills and keeping track of my finances as well as balancing my books, also tried to keep good personal relationships with people and delete junk out of my life and also develop a more personal relationship with my Creator.
It gets even better in March, i can see it coming.
I hope to finish my book during the short break from school in March and have a swell 25th birthday.

Triskaidekaphobia

Four days ago was Friday the 13th. It was supposed to be like some sort of bad omen day. I am really nor superstitious to the point of believing stuff like that but some people do. It is not even just the fear of Friday the 13th but it also the fear of the number 13 itself. A lot of people have associated thirteen as a bad number. 12 is said to be a complete number but thirteen makes it odd. It is actually an odd number. A dozen is 12 and a baker's dozen is 13.Lol. There were 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, The 12 tribes of Israel, 12 months in a year, etc.

Friday is said to be a bad day because Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday. Adding Friday and 13 together makes is a real doomsday.

For so many years, this myth has just been a phobia to so many people. Some people decided not to even go to work or come out of bed on that day. In the year 2009, we have three Friday the 13th. The first one is in February, the second one is in March and the third one is in November.

So here are some facts about Friday the 13th.

1. Many Hospital buildings do not have any room with the number 13.

2.Some tall buildings don't have a 13th floor.

3.Streets in LA, San Francisco and Washington do not have a 13th Street.

4. In Tracy, California i noticed that there is no 13th Street, it ends with 12th Street.

5. Formula 1 has no car with a number 13.

6. Franklin roosevelt would never travel on the 13th and would never have 13 guests for dinner.

7.The first person to die in a car accident was killed in New York City on Sept. 13, 1899.

Beliefs about Friday the 13th.

1. Never Change you bed on a Friday, you will have bad dreams.

2. Ships that set sail on Friday have bad luck.

3. Moving n friday is not advised. you will not stay there long.

4. Never start a new job on a Friday or you won't stay there very long.

5. A child born on Friday is dommed to misfortune.

6. A married on Friday couple are doomed to living a cat and dog life.

I don't know if you believe these little facts. Well they might have happened but let's not attribute it to Friday the 13th. It might have just chosen to happen on that day. It could have happened on the 14th, 15th or 16th. Well there are two more Friday the 13th's this year, lets see how they go. God save us all. Amen.

STOP GLOBAL WARMING

I watched this commercial for the first time on Bill O"reilly Show and for a minute reality struck. "Shackles" was the hit back then with Televison stations showing the video and also it became a church entertainment dance in most churches. It is really impressing to know that they have grown so much and even gotten so much better over the years. In between their career, they got married and now have children.

I think their driving force is the passion for what they do. They are talented gospel singers and i can't but help to grimace at thier hairdo's once in a while especially on the covers of thier cd's. In 2008, they came out with a new cd which is really hip. I love the cd and my favorite tracks are "Seattle" "Boom", "Dirt",Get Up" and "Superfriend". They have done "R&B", Classical music" "Hip Hop' and "rap" on all their other cd's but this new cd also has followed the revolution of music in the first decade of the 21st century. I sometimes bump to the "crank that stuff" music from "Superfriend" that was done with David Banner. I also find "God in Me' with Kiki sheard nice. I think it is a good Cd and it is worth buying. I am a Mary Mary fan. When is the next CD coming out.

JENIFA-THE MOVIE

I was encouraged to watch this nigerian movie for the longest. finally i did and it is the most hilarious movie i have ever watched.

It is about a young college freshman who was a nobody and wanted to become somebody. She ended up meeting some wayward young ladies and started living a very reckless lifestyle. Having sex with diferent men for money to look good and impress people.

I think the movie actualy reveals people's inner insecurities. Suliat came from a very poor background but she was really smart. She got to the campus and under the influence of her bad friends she changed her name to Jeniffer (Jenifa). I think Jenifa really didn't care about the way she looked or dressed until she was embarrassed several times. It was just like giving Eve the apple to eat and her eyes opened. Other girls made her feel insecure. It was sad the way one of their roomamtes died and her family realised that she was not even a student of that institution until after her death.

It is a movie for young girls to watch and realise that AIDS is real. I know a lot of youths are trying to make ends meet. Money is not everything, selling your bodies to make money to impress people that do not like you is not worth it. Sle fvalue is very necessary. I think Suliat was under intense peer pressure. All of a sudden she did not have a mind of her own and eventually ended up gaining nothing.

Some the words she used in the movie would always stick in my head such as "Ousshhhhhhhhh" "DFO" "my badday pariiiiiiiiiiiiiii" "Big gelz"

Self Control

I don't know who i can deal with better, a cheating boyfriend or one who has absolutely no self control. I don't understand why people cannot deal with their emotions. Early last week i had to deal with a friend of mine who had issues and just had no freaking self control. The little nice discussion ended nasty. And guess what apologies came later. Why do people not spare themselves the time of apologising later by just having a little self control?Emotions are very powerful but words are even more powerful. You can always say you are sorry for the things you do but you can never erase the things said. They become scars. Scars take time to heal. It could take days, weeks or months depending on the level of injury inflicted on the receiver's emotions.I was really shcoked to see the cute, handsome upcoming artist face public disapproval at his behavior. Alleged assault. Chris Brown and Rihanna, one of the celebirty couples have had their own share of Bobbi and Whitney moments and this time Chris decided to take his frustration or whatever was wrong with him at that moment out on her.I cannot judge his behavior because we all make mistakes but self control is essential in every relationship. Because of his lack of self control, he may lose Rihanna's friendship/love. He has lost his place with Wrigleys and now the public is begiining to see him as a beast. All this all because of one moment of madness. Poor Rihanna, i hope she wasn't beaten black and blue, Covergirl still needs her face on the cover of its magazine
